What is Cubital Tunnel Syndrome?
Cubital tunnel syndrome is also known as ulnar compression neuropathy which is normally due to increased on the ulnar nerve which is close to the inner side of the elbow commonly known as funny bone.
Cubital tunnel syndrome happens due to repeated bending and leaning of the elbow against the hard surface normally happen while bending your elbow for longer period while on phone or sleeping with the hand under the pillow.
Sometimes, cubital tunnel syndrome results from abnormal bone growth in the elbow or from repeated elbow movement that increases pressure on the ulnar nerve. Tennis players and bowlers have an increased risk of cubital tunnel syndrome, because the twisting motion required to throw a ball can damage delicate ligaments in the elbow.
Symptoms
Early symptoms of cubital tunnel syndrome include pain and numbness in the elbow and /Tingling, especially in the ring and little fingers while severe symptoms include weakness affecting the ring and little fingers, decreased ability to pinch the thumb and little finger, decreased overall hand grip, muscle wasting in the hand and claw-like deformity of the hand.
